Question: I wish to know
with reference to Qur'an and hadith whether women
have to cover their face while wearing hijab? I also
wish to know whether a Muslim is allowed to wear silver
or not? My third question is what is definition of
haraam. Is the punishment for haraam sins greater
than normal sins? Is every sin a haraam regardless
of whether it is big or small?
Answer 1: There are two opinions regarding covering the face:
The
first opinion is that the face is not required to
be covered. For your reference you can see the famous
HANAFI BOOK - AL MABSOOT by ALLAMA SARKASI VOL. 10
pg 152, 153 published by DARUL MARIF where he provides
evidence for this opinion.
The
second opinion concerns those who include covering
face as part of hijab. Their reference from the Quran
Sura Ahzab 33 Verse 59 also Ahdith in IBN MAJAH narrated
by Hadhrat AISHA (RA) pg 143 published by NOOR MOHAMNMED
KUTUBKHAN, KARACHI also from AISHA (R.A) in BUKHARI
VOL.1 pg 54. as above publisher.
Answer 2: The use of gold is haraam for men. A certain amount
of silver can be worn by males e.g a ring
Answer 3: Haraam which is forbidden in Sharia strongly supported
by confirmed evidence (DALIL E QATI). The punishment
of haraam is greater than the normal sin. Every sin
is not haraam. The classifications are under the following
categories:
1.
Haram
2.
Makroh e tahrimi
3.
Malroh e tanzehi
