The Events of Karbala and Shahadate Imam Husayn (RA) Conference

Alhumdulillah, this years Shahadate Imam Husyan (RA) Conference at Jamia Ghausia Masjid Lea Bridge Road was successfully attended. The Programme recounted the events leading upto the day of Karbala (10th Muharram). There were speeches in Urdu and in English. Shaykh Rabbani narrated the history and the relevance of the martyrdom of Imam Husyan and his followers who were shaheed at the hands of Yazeed and his army led by Ibn Ziyad. Imam Husayn had been called by the fickle people of Kufa who offered to pledge alleigance to him. Imam Husayn could not refuse this since he was compelled to stand up against the injustices committed by Yazeed in the name of Islam.
